Teams from Wong Tai Sin and Kwai Chung will fly to Thailand next month after winning the 'Hang Seng Bank-Junior Police Call (JPC) Environmental Detectives' competition.
Wong Tai Sin JPC District Council and Siu Ming Catholic Secondary School respectively won the JPC district council and secondary school categories.
The two teams, who were also each awarded scholarships of $6,000, will visit conservation areas and facilities during the five-day Thailand trip.
Shan Tsui Public School, winner of the primary school section, won $3,000 and a trip to Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park.
The competition included Web games, environmental case studies and report presentations.It was aimed at enhancing teenagers' civic-mindedness and awareness of environmental protection, as well as facilitating their contribution to the sustainable development of Hong Kong.
