The promise of unlimited sushi and sake drew more than 1,000 people to the Hachi Japanese Restaurant and Lounge in Lan Kwai Fong.
The owners wanted to thank patrons for their business and the guest list included friends and family of the many shareholders. The result was a diverse gathering of businesspeople, singers, models, actors and trendsetters. Guests included Anne Marie and Oliver Tan, Tansy Tom, Laila Harilela, Robert Vicencio, Audrey Chiu, Leigh Tung Chou, William Ma Ching-wai, and Michelle Cheng Sze-wan.
The sushi chef was kept busy, as droves of hungry guests queued up with empty sushi plates. The food took a while, but judging by the look on many faces, it was well worth the wait - or was it the effect of all those exotic blue lychee sake cocktails?
As the night progressed, the hosts turned up the music's volume and patrons partied until well past midnight.
