White out
Dimitri Lamarlere is a banker who admits to being 'spoilt' since coming to Asia. 'Since coming here, I've learned to appreciate skin.' Originally from Canada, Mr Lamarlere thinks freckles look out of place on grown women. 'They're cute on young women but the problem is that when women get older, their skin ages as well and freckles just don't belong any more.'

Jamie Osmund, a new media director, says that freckles have never been an issue when it comes to the opposite sex. 'I love outdoorsy women who aren't afraid of the sun and freckles are a reflection of that attitude. They're also cute and sexy, in a mischievous way.' He finds the Asian obsession with whitening a 'turn-off'. He attributes the craze to social status and vanity.
