Actor-turned-director Stephen Fung Tak-lun has gone back to his thespian roots for the debut production of Sundream Motion Pictures. The new movie, Twilight of the Uncertainty (a working title), is set in 1920s and 30s China. Fung plays the main character, a medical apprentice suspected of being involved in a murder. The film, directed by newcomer Lam Kin-loong, also stars Gillian Chung Yan-tung as a lawyer who helps Fung's character. 'Just being an actor is a more relaxing job,' Fung said. 'I can go straight home and sleep after filming. A director has much more to do.' Fung, who directed Enter the Phoenix and House of Fury, said the film had a supernatural element similar to Tsui Hark's classic A Chinese Ghost Story. Next month, Fung (above) and the film crew will travel to Hengdian, Hunan, Zhangjiajie and Zhejiang to begin filming. Fung said he looked forward to working with Sundream, which was established earlier this year. 'I love to work with new companies and new directors,' the 30-year-old said. 'It'll be an interesting experience to be part of Sundream's very first production.' Sundream has Fung lined up for another two acting roles.
