He was the first to unite China and called himself the First Emperor. Although he was considered ruthless because of his cruel policies, such as the burning of Confucian books, I admire the reforms he carried out. He controlled a large empire and prevented foreign invasions. He was also regarded as a great diplomat. The Great Wall, which commenced construction under his regime, helped to protect China and is now a precious landmark. Nobody is more qualified than Qin Shi Huang to be called the greatest political leader. Our ultimate Top Teen will win a Nokia N3230 mobile phone worth $3,198

Mao Zedong. Even though he did some things that attracted criticism, his concepts are what I like the most about him. I admire him because he unified a huge nation. China is one of the largest countries in the world, so it was quite a feat. Also, he wanted to close the gap between the haves and have-nots. He wanted commoners to be able to read so that everybody could communicate. That, to me, is an incredible goal because literacy empowers people.
