Manhattan credit cardholders who have never been to New York experienced the next best thing when they partied at Lux in Lan Kwai Fong on Friday night. A cardboard silhouette of the city skyline was used as a backdrop. Partygoers swore they couldn't tell they weren't in the Big Apple.

Now what New York City nightclub would be complete without jewelled dancers, Harley Davidson chics, cowgirls and high-level businesswomen in power suits as a part of the party demographic? The above, including Harlem rappers and other colourful performers, entertained the crowd of about 200 all evening. The party started at 9pm and, with the promise of unlimited drinks at the bar, the venue quickly filled up and disgruntled cardholders had to be turned away. New York City classics such as hot dogs, ice cream, hamburgers, pizza and toffee apples were served and many guests did the grab and eat thing while downing an apple martini and a special Manhattan drink.

Celebrity guests, models Kathy Chow Man-kei and Carl Ng Ka-lung, partied with the crowd. Ng (left), tells CitySeen: 'The party was great and I probably enjoyed myself too much ... though it wasn't much fun getting soaked in the rain on my way there and then standing next to Kathy, who's always dressed to the nines, for the photo session.'

There was plenty of food and booze to go around - though organisers weren't saying how much money was spent on the party.
