Updated at 6.25pm: The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority is investigating three cases involving six missing papers for the HKCEE examinations, local news media reported on Thursday.
The Hong Kong Certificate Education Examinations are Form 5 exams which are sat by most pupils at secondary schools in the territory.
One of these cases involved an exam marker losing four Chinese Language (paper II) exam papers after marking them. Another two cases both involved a missing exam paper, Ming Pao Daily reported.
The authority said they have already informed concerned candidates and schools.
The exact number of missing papers for the HKCEE has not been confirmed. These details would be released on August 9, together with the HKCEE's general results, a HKAEE spokesman said.
'Candidates can either take the examinations again or accept academic assessments if their papers are confirmed to be missing by the HKAEE,' a spokesman added.
