Rubelli, the upmarket Venetian furnishing fabric firm, is famed for dressing up the canal-filled city's La Fenice Opera House and apartments in the Doges' Palace with faithful reproductions of original fabric decorations. In its 2005 collection (left and far left), the 147-year-old company focuses on silk for its series of jacquard fabrics inspired by art of the 1920s and 30s. The palette includes rust red and peach pink as well as algae and pea green.
