THE International Investment Expo is a combination of four investment-related exhibitions, and offers people a rare chance to research both investment opportunities and pitfalls.
The Expo, which will be opened today by the Secretary of Financial Services, Michael Cartland, is organised by Adsale Exhibition Services in association with the Hong Kong Trade Fair Group.
Aimed mainly at Hong Kong people, it will allow members of the public to buy property in Britain and the United States, learn about the benefits of franchising and the problems of investing, and hear about foreign exchange opportunities available in Singapore.
More than 60 organisations from 15 countries are taking part.
There are fewer Chinese participants this year because of the Government's austerity programme. Although they will be missed, the quality and geographical spread of the organisations which have reserved space at the expo will more than make up for the Chinese absence.
A strong Canadian contigent at the expo will be aiming to attract potential immigrants, as well to give them a good chance of prospering once they have arrived at their destination.
