My dear readers, sadly, today is my last day as your CitySeen columnist. Maybe you'll miss me for a bit, but you'll soon forget as the new columnist, Andrew Sun, makes you chuckle over your morning coffee with the city's quirky tidbits.
The word on the street is that all that partying has burned me out (I'm always working at events, by the way) but the truth is that family obligations have summoned me to a new city. By this time next week, I will be lost somewhere in New York City, a place where everyone is a columnist or a celebrity or crazy or all of the above. I am glad to be leaving behind the flying cockroaches, the four sad local television channels and people called Penis Wong or Santa Ho. But I'll miss Hong Kong very much, especially my amah, the hole-in-the-wall cobbler who can fix Manolos for $35, and typhoon 8.
Above all, I will miss all of you, who have loved or hated me, and always written to let me know. Good luck to all; perhaps we'll meet again - you never know, maybe I'll make it as that crazy celebrity columnist in New York ...
