Contract position helps make an event click

Event management service provider EventClicks has an opening for a contract event manager to assist the company when needed.

'At times we have an overlap of more than one event and at such times our resources can be stretched. It is for these occasions we are seeking an experienced event manager, with at least five years' experience to assist with or manage projects,' said general manager Claire Saunders.

The events the company organises range from board meetings and VIP hospitality functions to conferences for more than 500 delegates. The company hosts events throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Duties will depend on the event and the role and may include liaising with venues and vendors, time planning and budgets, and attending regular client meetings. On smaller projects it may just be providing an 'extra pair of hands' to ensure the event goes smoothly.

'Having organisational skills and being detail oriented is necessary, however where we add value for our clients is by thinking ahead to avoid potential pitfalls or suggest enhancements to improve the delegates' experience. Therefore we seek a professional with that rare combination of planning and skills combined with a creative flair as all our events are tailor-made,' explained Ms Saunders.

A university graduate is preferred, as is the ability to be an effective communicator in English, Cantonese and preferably Putonghua.
