What: Established in 1976, the charity has five social centres throughout Hong Kong offering a wide variety of community and social services to children, youths, the elderly new arrivals, disabled people and other disadvantaged groups.

Volunteer jobs for teenagers include visiting elderly people during festive times or helping children from poor families with their homework. Students above Form Five can help with the Uncle Long Leg Letter Box by replying to letters from children who write to 'Uncle Long Leg' for advice.

'I've visited centres for elderly people. Many young people have the impression that old people are very stubborn and are quite difficult to deal with. But I've found that elderly people are like children as they get older.

They are very eager to learn. I've taught seniors to use a computer. They were very happy to learn how to use a computer mouse and surf the internet.
