Joey Chan Ho-ling re-established herself as the top ranked female under-19 player, cruising to a 3-0 victory over defending champion Annie Au Wing-chi in the final of the Hong Kong Junior Squash Open. Joey took only 31 minutes to clinch the title on Saturday. She won the first rubber against the top seed 9-1, took the second 10-9 and ended powerfully to clinch the third 9-4. Chiu Ka-kei won the third place match. Joey, Annie and Chiu were in the girls' team which triumphed in the world junior championships in Belgium last month. The fourth member of that team, Leung Shin-nga, beat Ko Shin-ting to retain the under-17 title. In the boys' section, top junior Anson Kwong Yu-shun beat Chiu Ho-fai 9-2, 10-8, 9-2 to take his first title in the under-19 category. Overall, Hong Kong players claimed five age category titles in the competition, which featured young players from around the region. The territory was also successful in the boys' under-17, and the girls' under-11 groups.
