Mainland visitors may undergo health check
The government will consider imposing a mandatory health check on mainlanders who want to enter Hong Kong.
Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food York Chow Yat-ngok made the remarks after the idea was floated during the second consultation on health-reform policies. Fears were raised that incoming mainlanders may bring tuberculosis and other diseases to the city, imposing an extra burden on the health-care system.
Disneyland holds emergency drill
Hong Kong Disneyland's theme park was undergoing an emergency drill early this morning. The government-requested test was expected to last several hours, a park spokesman said. It was understood that the exercise involved emergency personnel and was monitored by the Fire Services Department. There was no fireworks display.
