AVCJ Group, a financial publications and events organiser, has an opening for an editorial director of events and a conference manager to support its Global Asian Venture Forum series of conferences.

'AVCJ (Asian Venture Capital Journal) is the one-stop shop premier weekly source on Asia's direct investments in venture capital and private equity asset classes,' said Trevor Chan, vice-president, business development. 'Industry practitioners and financial investors rely on our online products and conference activities to seek business opportunities and build relationships with decision makers.'

Both positions will involve assisting with the planning of several annual industry events and international conferences.

'The successful candidates must have the ability to go beyond event planning and interact with senior members of the financial and corporate community to identify major trends and develop themes based on knowledge of the business built from industry contacts, past conferences and on-the-ground intelligence in key Asian markets,' Mr Chan said. The new recruits will also need to use their industry insights to outline and develop relevant conference programmes and identify industry experts as potential conference speakers. The editorial position will require the drafting of speeches and marketing material.

'The positions are extremely attractive given the opportunities that one would not have elsewhere: to develop contacts, and grow intellectually and professionally with the most dynamic leaders in the investment world,' he said.

Familiarity with Asian business investment trends, the ability to network in international business circles, and the skills to manage events are all prerequisites.
