Touch is the second album by R&B singer Amerie Rogers and is the follow-up to her successful debut CD All I Have.
Touch is mostly comprised of up- and mid-tempo R&B tunes with samples of sequenced drum beats and a tinge of oriental music.
But Amerie's whisper-like vocals are better suited towards R&B ballads - such as the song Just Like Me - than upbeat vibes.
In rhythmic opening track 1 Thing, her vocals are sometimes covered by kinetic drum loops, which result in a robotic sound.
Can We Go, which features R&B singer Carl Thomas is a standout track. His magnetic vocals complement Amerie's airy singing.
Touch has the required elements to become a hit album: easy listening melodies, danceable vibes and beautiful face on the cover. But like Ashanti, another pretty R&B singer, Amerie's voice is too reedy and thin.
