Where? Collins Street is Melbourne's most prestigious shopping district and boasts a range of designer shops, including Chanel, Ferragamo, Gucci and Louis Vuitton. Miss Louise is in the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Who? Opened by Morry Fishman in 1966, Miss Louise now has seven stores across Australia. It was the first boutique in the country to sell imported European designer labels, such as Fendi and Maud Frizon, in the 1970s .

The vibe: the 1,000-square-foot shop is decorated in soft pink and has five big windows that ensure the interior is bright and light.

The crowd: the shop attracts international and local fashionistas. Celebrity shoppers have included Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Venus Williams.

The goods: the emphasis is on international designer labels and luxury brands, including Giuseppe Zanotti, Tod's, Pucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Sergio Rossi, D-Squared, Valentino, Jimmy Choo, Alexander McQueen and Chloe.
