Seven-year-old critical after knife attack by masked men
A seven-year-old boy was in a critical condition last night after being chopped by two masked men in Kwai Tsing.
The attack occurred shortly before 6pm when the boy, accompanied by his grandmother, was making his way to a private tutorial school near their home in Lei Mun Shue Estate.
'When they approached the ground floor of the 5th block of the estate, two masked men, who looked in their 20s and wore black T-shirts, black jeans and caps, suddenly came out,' a police spokesman said.
They pushed the boy to the ground and chopped his right arm and leg before fleeing.
One onlooker said the grandmother tried to stop the boy from bleeding by tying pieces of her clothing around his arms and legs.
The boy asked: 'How come my arm is so painful?'
The boy, who suffered two wounds to his arm and four to his leg, was taken to Yan Chai Hospital. His condition was listed as critical.
