Actor-singer Daniel Wu Yin-cho and his celebrity friends have vowed to boycott Hong Kong Disneyland because of what they say was the disrespectful attitude of the park's American staff during the shooting of a promotional programme.

'We will not be going to Disneyland EVER again,' the 30-year-old American-born star wrote on www.alivenotdead.com, the website of his band, Alive. 'We are not saying you shouldn't go, but if you do, watch out for the pale-skin staff, they will try and talk to you as if you're stupid!' To the staff, he wrote: 'Please get off your high horse and adjust the attitude! And if you are going to talk down to someone ... at least look them in the eyes when you do it.'

The programme, Hong Kong Disneyland Grand Opening Special, is scheduled to air on TVB Jade on September 11 at 8pm. It is said to feature Jackie Chan, Jacky Cheung Hok-yau and 10 TVB contract artists including Lydia Shum Tin-ha.

Wu's management company said his promotional spot featured the stars trying out the games and introducing the theme park's facilities.

A Hong Kong Disneyland spokeswoman stressed that everyone entering the theme park is treated as a guest. 'There must have been some miscommunication between his crew and our team,' she said, adding it was uncertain if Wu's promotional spot would air.

TVB's assistant controller Tsang Sing-ming said none of its other artists involved in the programme had complained. 'But I'm very surprised if there was any miscommunication because all the boys from Alive are overseas Chinese.'
