Hong Kong's political camps should not stick rigidly to their own views in discussions on electoral arrangements for 2007 and 2008, Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen said yesterday.
He said he was confident a good package could be worked out.
In an interview with Phoenix TV, Mr Tsang said although there were different views on the pace of constitutional reform there was still room for debate.
He said he was confident about drafting a good reform proposal for the election of the chief executive in 2007 and the Legislative Council in 2008.
'I hope all the parties concerned will not be too stubborn about their views. They should tolerate the views of others,' Mr Tsang said
Political reform must win the support of both the Hong Kong community and Beijing, the chief executive said.
