Separatists force village girls to act in porn films, police say
Separatist guerillas in the northeastern state of Tripura are allegedly making pornographic films to fund their rebellion against the government.
According to police, who seized porn DVDs in raids on hideouts, the tribal separatists of the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura [NLFT] are forcing kidnapped women and men to act in the films which are sold in India and abroad to fund their rebellion.
'The rebel leaders are forcing the captured tribal village girls, boys and also some of their younger male conscripts to act in the porn films shot in isolated villages deep inside jungles,' said one police officer in Agartala, capital of Tripura.
The rebels denied being porn producers. 'This is nothing but another propaganda war launched by the police to malign our image,' an NLFT spokesman said.
The police chief of Tripura, G.M. Srivastava, said surrendered guerillas told police their leaders had raped several abducted tribal girls and forced to them to act in many films.
'On [that] information we conducted raids and recovered many nude DVDs featuring local boys and girls from the rebel hideouts and underground urban markets. Some were dubbed in Burmese, Bengali, Hindi and Thai, suggesting that they were being marketed to many countries in the region,' he said.
