Wardrobe staple?

Black, black and black. I have every type of clothing in black.  It's fabulously versatile.  And jeans.  They're comfortable and can be dressed up or down.

What do you always wear?

Scent. My spirit lifts as soon as I put on a beautiful fragrance.

Fashion no-nos?

Anything patent. I never did like that hard look.

Handbag pick for this season?

I love my cream Chloe Paddington and I definitely want a Bottega Veneta rope clutch.

Must-have accessory?

My Nokia.

Favourite shoe designer?

It  depends on the season and event. For autumn,  everything from Giuseppe Zanotti and Marni suede wedges. For travelling, my Gucci pumps.  For leisurewear,  I'm always in Havaianas.

Most cherished fashion item?

My pink mohair scarf knitted  by my favourite aunt. Apart  from being beautiful, there's  an emotional attachment.

Who'd design your Oscars dress?

Vera Wang would definitely be my first choice.  But I wouldn't say no to a Proenza Schouler dress.

Style icon?

My male style icon  is Tom Ford because he makes men look fabulous.  I love  Kate Hudson's   fresh, feminine, uncontrived look.

Most expensive fashion item?

A two-carat pink diamond ring which was a gift from my mum.

Your fashion style?

Stylish, simple, chic and comfortable.

Boho or ladylike?

Ladylike for sure

Flats or stilettos?

Depends on my mood.

High-end or high street?

High end. But high street for up-and-coming young designers.

Fashion disaster?

In my teens I would match gold-buttoned Versace shirts with a classic Chanel sling bag.

Favourite local designer and why?

Ranee K for her flirty vintage  dresses,  Vivienne Tam for  making Asian-inspired fashion  so cool, and  Dorian Ho's  beadwork creations.
