Samsung Miniket VP-MS10: Although it was a late comer to the digital camera market, Samsung seems to be catching up in a hurry. This latest model offers 5.25 megapixel imaging, a 3x optical zoom (15x digital zoom) as well as a powerful processor that can record VGA (640x480) video at 30 fps (frames per second) and a 63mm LCD display. The VP-MS10 also has an MP3 player. It is expected to hit the shelves later this year. (Price: about $3,100)
Creative MuVo Vidz: Creative's new video player features a colour LCD and the ability to play back video and photos. Like competing devices such as the MPIO One, the Vidz is tiny, measuring only 32 x 66 x 15.7mm, hence restricting the size of the 65,000-colour OLED display to 30mm. The Vidz uses flash memory and comes in 512MB or 1GB versions. An FM radio and voice recorder are also included in the unit. The Vidz will launch soon. (Price: about $1,700)
iRiver T30: The latest portable audio player from iRiver doesn't offer that many frills. Unlike many new models coming onto the market, the T30 still sports a monotone screen and can't display photos. However, capacity for the model has been raised to 1GB (256MB and 512MB models are also available), and music format support now encompasses MP3 and WMA as well as OGG Vorbis. An FM radio and voice recorder are also included. (Price: $898 to $1,498)
