Sixty-two junior form students from HKTA Lee Heng Kwei Secondary School in Tai Po

played games and learned the importance of co-operation at an English camp on July 4.

The school's English teachers and a group of senior student helpers also attended the event held at Wu Kai Sha YMCA Camp.

Their aim was to help participants learn English in a relaxed environment.

At the opening ceremony, the senior students set the tone by introducing concepts of fluent English.

During the morning session, teams of students took part in games to earn stamps in their achievement books.

After lunch, they completed a fun task which required the them to co-operate with each other.

Valtorta College's 25th Speech Day was held on July 11.

Alice Woo Sai-yee,  the guest-of-honour and manager of Valtorta College, delivered an inspirational speech.

'Hard work is crucial for success,' Ms Woo said.

She said that her family had a difficult time after her father died when she was in Form Two.

She gave up a scholarship to study in the United States and tutored students after school to support her family.

Ms Woo reminded the graduates that success comes from hard work.

Otherwise, failure would be inevitable.

In her annual report, principal Theresa  Chan Kam-tim  announced that all language teachers have passed the Language Proficiency Benchmark test with good grades and all subject teachers have completed the teacher training programme organised by the Education and Manpower Bureau. She said all staff had strived to provide quality education for the students.
