GOALKEEPER Harvey Lim pulled off a string of fine saves to inspire Sing Tao to a 1-0 victory over Kitchee in a Hong Kong First Division match at Mongkok Stadium yesterday.
Lim, formerly with English Third Division side Gillingham, was kept busy in the first period, punching, parrying and cradling shots in a 20-minute blitz from Kitchee.
Lim was at his best when tipping over Jason Loryman's close-range header in the 26th minute.
''There has been talk about my not playing too well, but it's nice that I have proved them wrong today,'' said Halesworth-born Lim, who has kept a clean slate in his last three games.
''Kitchee played really well. The two Brazilians [Antonio and Rogerio] held the team up, but we defended well. In the second half, it was a different story. We put pressure on them and were rewarded,'' he said.
In an otherwise scrappy affair, Chu Yue-tai scored the winning goal in the 70th minute to earn full points for Sing Tao. The victory, the fourth straight, lifted them to third behind Eastern and South China.
