Horwath Hong Kong Group needs a company secretarial manager to handle inquiries and requests about trust matters and company secretarial issues. 'The position requires the setting up of trusts and companies and attending to statutory requirements for maintaining companies in good standing,' said Catherine Chiu, director of trusts and corporate service at the accounting and business consultancy firm. 'The Horwath Hong Kong Group is part of Horwath International, which is one of the [world's] top 10 independent accounting and business consultancy firms. This is an excellent opportunity to join a multinational organisation,' she said. Other responsibilities include acting as a customer relationship manager and supervising a team of assistants in providing trust and company secretarial services for clients. 'We expect that the candidate should have an understanding of trust and company law, and company secretarial practice, with at least five years' experience at the managerial level of a professional firm,' Ms Chiu said. The chosen candidate would also assist the director in managing the department and train staff members, she said, adding that excellent interpersonal skills were required. Ms Chiu said the chosen candidate would be likely to face some challenges in dealing with clients of different natures and profiles, as well as in providing tailor-made services and advice on how to structure entire projects. 'However, one of the rewards of the position comes from these challenges. There is a real sense of job satisfaction from the ability to provide good advice and service to meet clients' needs, which are then recognised and appreciated by clients,' she said. 'Horwath is looking for someone who is self-motivated, honest, confident, able to work independently, and flexible, so that he or she is able to adapt to the ever-changing environment and clients' requests,' Ms Chiu said. She added that the successful applicant would also be outgoing, organised, patient and able to deal with tedious matters. 'In addition to an attractive salary package the company will provide job security, personal development and promotion prospects for the right candidate,' Ms Chiu said. A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese is required. 'Excellent communication skills are an important people skill prerequisite for this position and candidates will need to demonstrate these and other required skills during the interview process,' Ms Chiu said. Applicants should be associate members of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators or of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
