Jonathan Lai Director of revenue management InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong With more than 15 years' experience in hotel operations, Mr Lai brings a wealth of experience to InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong. Originally from Malaysia, he has spent a number of years working not only in his home country, but also in Australia and New Zealand. In his new role, he will work closely with management to lead the revenue team. Tathagata Guha Roy Senior portfolio manager The Alliance Trust Mr Roy joined Alliance Trust from Citigroup Asset Management in Hong Kong, where he was head of investments for equities and balanced portfolios in Asia. Mr Roy worked for Citigroup in Hong Kong and Singapore, managing Asian regional equity portfolios. He has also worked for Koeneman Capital Management in Singapore and SBI Funds Management in Mumbai. He is a qualified chartered accountant and cost accountant. Christine Wang Head of client services, mainland China HSBC Ms Wang's new role in HSBC will encompass business implementation, technical implementation and customer service for the mainland market. She was head of the bank's Asian Customer Service Centre before taking up the new post. Ms Wang began her career with HSBC as a customer service officer in personal banking in 1988. Tammy Sheu General manager Grey Worldwide Beijing Ms Sheu has worked at leading agencies including Ogilvy & Mather in Shanghai - where she managed both large local and multinational accounts including KFC, Tsingtao Beer, Haier and Hershey's - Ogilvy & Mather Taipei and McCann Erickson, also in Taipei. Ms Sheu began taking over the management and account responsibilities at Grey Worldwide from managing director Josh Li on joining the agency in mid-July. Raymond Yu China vice-president Sybase Sybase is a leading provider of enterprise infrastructure and mobile software. Mr Yu will be responsible for the company's business development, marketing and management in the mainland. He will retain his post as vice-president of Financial Fusion, a Sybase subsidiary and e-finance solution provider in Asia. Mr Yu brings more than 30 years of IT industry expertise and rich management experience to the post. Lawrence Soo Assistant vice-president, regional wealth management, Asia Manulife Financial Mr Soo will develop product and infrastructure platforms for Manulife across Asia, as well as assisting regional territories in their wealth management initiatives. Before joining Manulife, he was the chief operating officer and chief financial officer of an established international fund house. He holds an MBA and an economics degree. Mr Soo is also a chartered secretary. David Wong Chief executive American Express Bank in Hong Kong As chief executive, Mr Wong will lead the bank's executive team in driving business development in the market while overseeing all regulatory relationships. He will also continue in his role as head of private banking, Asia-Pacific. Mr Wong, a veteran of the banking industry, joined American Express in 1995. Before that, he worked with Citibank for more than 19 years, holding various management posts.
