Lie detector Can you tell when somebody is lying to you? Maybe this site will help. I cannot guarantee there is anything scientific about this but some of the points seem to be rather obvious. They do warn, however, that if you begin to look at your friends and family this way, you may be surprised. www.blifaloo.com/info/lies.php
Science in the news This is a great site for those who have an interest in science and the reporting of science. Ben Goldacre was concerned about how science was being reported in the press, so he put this together. It is frightening to read how poorly reporters who write about science understand the subject. If you thought there was a problem with education before, look at this and you will really understand what is wrong. www.badscience.net/.
When words fail Every now and then something pops up on the Web that simply must be seen to be believed. Words fail. This is one of them. 'Let Hercules himself do what he may, Cat will mew ...' Just have a look, you'll get it! www.milkandcookies.com/links/22880/
Esoteric letters I have seen a great deal of Microsoft bashing over the years but this is one of the most obscure. It is a game in which you play the font 'Helvetica' and try to 'destroy' another font, 'Arial'. Not with me on this? Explanations can be found on the site. www.engagestudio.com/helvetica/.
Citing frustrations How could we not include this? This has already become a hot site for many. An employee at Microsoft set up this blog site to vent his frustrations about the company. It is not a 'bashing site' at all but one put together by someone hoping to bring about change. Very interesting. http://minimsft.blogspot.com/.
