A NEW business multimedia software application, called Casita Digital Information Management System, is to be marketed in Hong Kong, Macau and the mainland. SGV Acclaim Technologies has signed an agreement with the Singapore-based systems integrator 2000+ Connections to market the latter's Casita system. This is an office automation solution to integrate multimedia files and includes image, text, drawing, form, audio and video. Casita's imaging capabilities can help firms to reduce the need to store large volumes of paper; it can also automate the management of a big collection of photographs and other pictorial information. By tapping Casita's audio and video capabilities, users can then add voice comment to picture clips. This helps users make effective business presentations. ''Users can collect, store, retrieve and manage almost any type of business data as the Casita system uses a client/server architecture which is designed to work on hardware platforms like Silicon Graphics' new Indy and the Acer Formula MIPS based PC,'' said Felix Liu, managing director of SGV Acclaim Technologies. ''The Casita system has tremendous potential in the Chinese-language market as its imaging capabilities are ideal for automating the management and control of documents in Chinese,'' he said.
