Motorola ROKR E1: The ROKR is being marketed as the first mobile phone to incorporate Apple's iTunes music platform, allowing you to turn it into
an iPod. The tri-band GSM ROKR comes with iTunes software, so you can connect it to your PC and copy songs to it easily. The software also makes cataloguing and playback (including a random shuffle option) much easier. There are also external speakers for playing music out loud and a digital VGA camera with 4X digital zoom. (Price: $1,980)
Nikon Coolpix S4: Nikon revolutionised the digital camera by introducing a swivel unit that houses the lens. Nikon has now upgraded the line with the 6 megapixel Coolpix S4. Another advantage of putting the lens on a separate unit is that there is more room for a bigger zoom. The S4 offers a sizable 10X zoom (equivalent to 38mm-380mm on a 35mm camera). The S4 also has 16 scene modes and incorporates a 6cm LCD screen. (Price: $3,180)
Sharp SX313: The latest 3G handset from the SmarTone/Sharp partnership is less pricey than the recently launched high-end model, the strikingly red SX833, but it still offers some impressive features. The SX313 is slightly smaller and comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera, instead of the
3 megapixel model on the SX833. Otherwise, the SX313 offers the same functionality and features, including MPEG 4 quality video and a QVGA screen. (Price: $3,980 or $2,280-$3,080 with a subscription from SmarTone)
