A fast-growing natural and health food manufacturer and retailer, Healthworks (Holdings), requires an art director to ensure the quality and creativity of all the company's marketing communications initiatives. Marketing projects will include shop decoration concepts, visual merchandising, packaging, point-of-sale materials, promotional items, consumer brochures and corporate presentations. The chosen candidate will be expected to oversee all projects through from initial concept to final production and will report directly to the managing director. The company said that a minimum of seven years' creative design experience is required and that experience in the natural products arena would be an advantage as would knowledge of brand building. Protection of the environment is one of the company's beliefs and therefore applicants should have a desire to create environmentally safe marketing materials that convey an earth-friendly message. A strong creative sense and excellent layout, presentation and graphic skills are prerequisites. Knowledge of photography will be an advantage. Good communication and people skills are necessary as the art director will need to brief and guide a pool of outsourced illustrators, photographers and suppliers. There is also an in-house design team that must be led to ensure consistently high quality. Other skills needed are attention to detail and the ability to recognise and deliver first-class work.
