SURE WIN KING (Nap) can confirm his status as one of the territory's potential racing stars by taking the rearranged Royal Hong Kong Golf Club Centenary Cup at this evening's Happy Valley turf fixture.

The race is now run as the third event to coincide with the Princess Royal's visit to the track and she should see one of the best looking horses in training - one who could even make up into an International Cup contender next season.

There are good grounds for thinking that Sure Win King has the scope to improve considerably on his last-start win.

Firstly, there is the opinion of his former jockey, Randy Romero who, before he returned to his native United States, told me: ''My biggest regret about leaving Hong Kong is leaving behind Sure Win King.

''Believe me,'' stressed Romero, ''this horse is a monster.

'I really think that he would win Group races back at home and reckon that, in time, he's going to be one of the stars of Hong Kong racing. He can really run.'' Secondly, there is the distance - the move to a mile should help Sure Win King considerably.
