The Corrs' latest offering makes several things clear: fans and family matter. On Home, the four siblings accede to requests for old Irish songs, instead of just the modern pop-lite they've delivered for a decade.

They also show how thick their blood runs - a few numbers come from the songbook of their mother, to whom they've dedicated the album.

Andrea, Sharon, Caroline and Jim Corr - whose parents were a singing duo - continue the family and folk tradition well. Although delivered with 21st-century sensibilities, their songs convey timeless emotions of sadness, affection and yearning. Opener My Lagan Love tells of a man who, unable to touch the woman he adores, is forced simply to observe her from afar. Like other tracks, it recalls a bygone era, when temptation was the space between glove and sleeve.
