Police appeal for any other victims  to come forward

Police yesterday arrested a man on suspicion of repeatedly groping women's breasts at a Kwun Tong housing estate.

They are appealing for women who may have been similarly assaulted at the Tsui Ping Estate to come forward following the arrest of the suspected attacker.

Officers from Kwun Tong District Intelligence Squad launched an operation  after receiving seven reports of indecent assaults on teenage girls and women at the estate since August.

Women aged between 13 and 32 reported to police that the  man had approached them from behind, put his hands around them and grabbed their breasts before running off.

Police started patrolling the estate last month and  set an ambush for the attacker, a spokesman said.

Police would not say if the ambush entailed placing female officers undercover at the estate in order to lay a trap for the attacker.

Yesterday  at around 8am, officers spotted a man resembling the description given to them by the victims. They followed him and arrested him outside 410, Kwun Tong Road.

Police believe that a number of other women may also have been similarly attacked but have not reported  the incidents.

They urge any victims to  contact the investigating officers at 27098252 or 27098254.

By last night, police had not charged the suspect.

Last month police arrested and charged a 40-year-old man with seven counts of indecent assault on schoolgirls in Yuen Long.

Indecent assault convictions carry a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
