A schoolboy was beaten by five schoolmates - one of whom claimed to be a triad member - during a lunch break at a basketball court outside their school in Kwai Chung yesterday. It is the second student-related attack within a week. About 21/2 hours before the alleged attack, during a morning break in the playground of the Sheung Kwai Chung Government Secondary School, the schoolboy, 13, was surrounded by the group, who demanded money, police said. The boy told police that when he said he had no money, one of the boys claimed to be a triad member. 'During a dispute, the group also asked the boy who his triad boss was,' a police investigator said. They returned to their classrooms after the dispute, but during the lunch break, the victim was attacked at a basketball court outside the school. Police said the attackers fled before the victim dialed 999 at 12.30pm. The schoolboy suffered no apparent injuries and was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital, where he was discharged after a check-up. The victim told officers that all five attackers were triad members. A police spokesman said no arrests had been made and detectives were investigating.
