The Red Bar is not only going to be red this weekend, but also sunset-orange and yellow. In an attempt to create a marketing gimmick with a difference, jeweller Cartier is taking over the outdoor portion of the IFC venue and turning it into a Mediterranean oasis to accompany displays of their new collection. This 'Cafe de Pasha' will resemble a sun-drenched Greek terrace, except with colourful displays of necklaces, watches, bracelets and rings featuring the tic-tac-toe in a circle Pasha motif. Furthermore, this 'cafe' will offer a platter of nibbles prepared exclusively by the executive chef from the Hotel InterContinental, Laurent Andre. We believe these snacks are slightly more affordable than the bling. Tonight is a VIPs-only shindig, but the public is welcome to check out the glittering pieces in 'Madeira citrine, amethyst, raspberry rubellite, peridot and pink tourmaline' tomorrow and Sunday. Having lost our copy of Jewellery For Dummies, we can't tell which are colours and which are semi-precious stones.
