THE HKMA/TVB Outstanding Young Marketing Professionals awards are open to people with less than 10 years' experience in the marketing sector. Each winner played a key role in a specific campaign and demonstrated creativity and excellence in execution and results. This year's winners share some of their thoughts:
Joanne Tang, assistant marketing manager, Warner Music Hong Kong
'Being marketers in the music industry, we must be passionate and devoted to music. We live, eat and sleep music. Positioning is crucial. Therefore, we must understand our artists, products and consumers. As marketers, we need to be responsive, creative, innovative, crisis-conscious and decisive. We must also have an enterprising attitude.
Sandy Lau Yeuk-hung, senior marketing officer, 99 Group Center (Double A)
'Innovation is the key to success in marketing in an old-fashioned industry. Our innovations included creative advertising and campaigns that promoted the first truly branded copy paper. The innovation also included taking elements from other industries, for example credit cards, to achieve successful results for Double A.'
Camellia Lee, market development manager, 99 Group Center (Double A)
