CNPC OFFERS KAZAKHSTAN STAKE TO SEAL PURCHASE CNPC has offered to sell 30 to 33 per cent in PetroKazakhstan to Kazakhstan's government if it drops objections to its US$4.18 billion bid for the Canadian firm, sources said. China's national oil firm has written to the Kazakh government outlining some of the terms of a possible buyout of the PetroKazakhstan stake by Kazakh state oil and gas firm KazMunaiGas, one source said. 'It is very likely that CNPC, acting through China's government, will make an offer to Kazakhstan allowing the Kazakh government to get at least partial control over the Shymkent refinery through a Kazakh firm, like state oil firm KazMunaiGas,' a source said. EXCHANGE FUND INCREASES FOREIGN CURRENCY ASSETS Foreign currency assets of Hong Kong's Exchange Fund amounted to $879 billion last month, an increase of $12.5 billion from the previous month, data released by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority showed. Foreign liabilities of the fund increased by $108 million to about $1.5 billion during the month. ENRIC FULLY SUBSCRIBED Enric Energy Equipment Holdings, a gas equipment manufacturer, said its share placement in connection with its upcoming listing on the Growth Enterprise Market was fully subscribed. Enric will raise $199.8 million by placing 133.2 million shares at $1.50 each. TERMINALS SEE MORE CARGO Cosco Pacific's 14 terminals handled 2.35 million teu (20-foot equivalent) last month, and 19 million in the first nine months, representing a 14.4 per cent and 16.8 per cent year-on-year increase respectively.
