Earth careers are divided into two main groups: those associated with earth, such as the building industry, flood control, mining, property development and sale, and fung shui; and those associated with agriculture and products derived from the earth, such as farming, plastics and ceramics, and the working of gems and stones. As earth is associated with trust, being a consultant others rely on is also considered an earth profession. In the cycle of birth, fire produces ash and therefore earth. The appropriate colours for business cards for people in earth industries are those connected to fire (red, orange, purple and magenta) and earth (yellow, beige, cream and shades of brown). Unsuitable colours include green, which relates to wood (which attacks earth) and black and blue, which signify water (which is in conflict with earth). White, silver, grey and gold, colours that represent metal, are also not suited as metal is derived from earth and drains it. Fung shui consultants, therefore, have predominantly red or beige/cream cards. Consultants' business cards should not only support earth but also the industry they are associated with. Educational consultants, for example, should have colours representing wood (green) or water (black, blue) together with red, denoting a consultancy.
