Shabby chic may have had its day, but not in Sai Kung, where Candice Cheung has opened a store that shows how appealing it can be to take the timeworn and make it trendy. Highlights in her cozy shop, Shabby Home, are European and American antique chandeliers, including a 1920s French Victorian chandelier (left; $35,800). Cheung, who has been in the furniture and lighting business for 15 years, began buying antiques as a hobby. She now teams her collectors' items with chunky wooden furniture from Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand. Other items of note are American hurricane lamps (right; $3,500-$4,200 each) and art-deco lamps, including a chrome floor lamp, also from the 20s, selling for $13,800.
