Courses

Forms One to Three: The three main subjects - mathematics and Chinese and English language

Forms Four to Five: The three main subjects, as well as applied mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, principles of accounts, geography and world history

Forms Six to Seven: All of the above, as well as pure mathematics, Chinese culture, use of English and mathematics and statistics

Other courses: English pronunciation, English grammar, writing, TOEFL and IELTS classes

Modern Education

Background

Established in 1988.  It has about 4,000 students and 45 teachers.  For higher form students, teachers will put an emphasis on gearing students for public examinations.

Branches: Prince Edward, Sha Tin, Kowloon Bay, Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun, Jordan and two in Causeway Bay.

Requirements: Only full-time students can apply.

Courses

Summer courses run in July and August.  Regular courses for the 2005-06 academic year will run from August to April.  Intensive courses, for Forms Five and Sevens, will start from December next year until April 2007.

Favour Education Centre

Background

Formally established in 2000.  It is a legal but non-registered tutorial centre, so classes are restricted to small classes of seven students.  Up to 80 students are now enrolled.

There are eight qualified teachers working at Favour.  They are degree holders with relevant teaching experience.

Courses

Small group subject-based courses, one lesson per week for each subject, with note and homework, emphasising teacher-student interaction.

Forms One to Three: Mathematics

Forms Four to Five: Mathematics, additional mathematics, English, chemistry, physics

Form Six: Pure mathematics, physics

Classes are about an hour and a half long and prices vary depending on the teacher and the number of students in a class

NTK Learning Centre

Background

Established in 1996.  Over 30 qualified teachers are currently teaching over 1,000 students.

NTK offers a wide range of Test Prep courses as well as courses for various international and local school curriculums.  It is also a testing centre for the PSAT and AP exams.

Courses

Primary One to Form Seven: English, modern languages and humanities

Test preparation: SAT subjects, TOEFL, IELTS, International Baccalaurate subjects, GCSE/IGCSE subjects

Mathematics and science for both the American and British system

Various HKCEE and HKAL subjects

Others: NTK provides a free assessment test to assess the student?s level.  Their education consultants provide free consultations to parents and students regarding various curriculums, tests, and school application information.
