HKIED hosts conference for institutes in PRD
The first joint conference for teacher education institutes across the Pearl River Delta region has been hosted by Hong Kong Institute of Education. Academics from 12 institutions attended the conference last week on new developments in teacher education held by the Coalition of Teacher Education Institutions in the Pan-Pearl River Delta, which was formed in Guangzhou in December last year.
BaptistU hands out free students to companies
Hong Kong Baptist University is offering free audits of communication systems in private companies and public organisations carried out by students. A total of 29 students from the communications department are available to carry out the audits, which are used to evaluate internal and external communication programmes.
Jockey Club staff get student shadows
More than 100 secondary students spent two days this week learning the ropes at Hong Kong Jockey Club. The Form Four to Seven students shadowed employees in various departments, from office work and customer relations to more unusual posts in the club's riding school, stables and at the track. The work experience placements were part of the Job Shadowing programme run by Junior Achievement Hong Kong.
