Mark Ashton General manager Hong Kong Leighton Asia (Northern) In his new role, Mr Ashton will be responsible for all the company's operations in Hong Kong. He has more than 20 years' experience in large-scale infrastructure projects throughout Asia, Britain, Australia, Africa and the Caribbean. Mr Ashton was previously project director and construction manager for a number of Leighton's major projects in Hong Kong. He will take up his appointment on January 1. Joe Lim Manager of hospitality and car, GDS for Asia-Pacific Cendant Travel Distribution Services Mr Lim will be part of the regional supplier services team covering air, hotel, car and other supplier relationships for Galileo International (a Cendant company) within the Asia-Pacific. Based in Singapore, he will be responsible for improving hotel chain and car company presence in the Galileo global distribution system and improving all levels of connectivity with Asia-Pacific-based suppliers. Peter Mills Consultant Healy & Baillie A former partner of law firms in London and Hong Kong, Mr Mills is well known in the maritime markets for his shipping litigation skills, with a particular emphasis on marine casualty work. In his new post, he will combine his contacts and skills with those of Healy & Baillie. Mr Mills is from New Zealand and is a long-term resident of Hong Kong. Samuel Porteous Managing director, Hong Kong Navigant Consulting Mr Porteous has been based in Asia for more than six years, where his practice focuses on pre-transaction due diligence, internal fraud investigations, resolution of major debt issues and setting up corporate integrity programmes. Mr Porteous has worked for Canada's foreign and intelligence services, and the teams he has developed have emerged as innovative and sought-after risk management problem solvers. Mina Vardar Blet Director of guest relations InterContinental Hong Kong Ms Vardar Blet moved to Hong Kong from Paris where, for the past four years, she was front office manager at Courtyard by Marriott Paris Neuilly. Before that she served as assistant front office manager and worked in sales at the Paris Marriott Hotel. Her hotel career has taken her around the globe. She was assistant general manager at the Dedeman Club Blue Waters Hotels and front office manager at Hotel Turquoise, both in the resort city of Antalya, Turkey. Lizavette Numes Manager, Club InterContinental InterContinental Hong Kong Ms Numes moved to Hong Kong from the Champagne region of France where she spent the past seven years working for distinguished Champagne house Laurent-Perrier, in Tours-sur-Marne, overseeing sales and client visits. Her previous work experience includes assignments with LVMH's Champagne Veuve Clicquot, Champagne Ruinart and Moet & Chandon. She is fluent in five languages. Dick van Motman President and chief executive at DDB China DDB Asia Mr van Motman will be based in Shanghai and will continue to have regional oversight for DDB Worldwide on the Royal Philips account. He joined DDB in March last year after the realignment of the Philips account. Previously, he was vice-president, Asia-Pacific, at Leo Burnett running the Philips and Procter & Gamble accounts. He began his advertising career in Holland, first at Ogilvy & Mather in 1988 and then at D'Arcy Amsterdam.
