Despite or perhaps because of their trials and tribulations, the Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum of the Harbour Fest fiasco are still friends, if a new InvestHK television advert is anything to go by.
James Thompson (pictured left), former chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce and organiser of the music fest, has been featured doing the disco for the investment promotion arm of the government headed by old pal Mike Rowse, along with a couple of business luminaries such as Allan 'Mr Lan Kwai Fong' Zeman (right) and executive councillor Bernard Chan (second from right).
This sequence was filmed atop the HSBC headquarters to the tune of Queen's We Will Rock You. Why the classic rock anthem was chosen to promote Hong Kong as a premier business centre is a mystery.
Mr Rowse, unfortunately, did not appear in the ad, otherwise it would be amusing to see him do a John Travolta.
'He was away on a trip during the filming,' his office told LoDown.
Mr Rowse is currently helping a government inquiry into his role in the billion-dollar fiasco.
