father pleads not guilty in incest case

A 52-year-old unemployed Tin Shui Wai man appeared in the Court of First Instance yesterday charged with one count of rape and one count of incest relating to his two teenage daughters. He pleaded not guilty. Prosecutor Simon Tam said the alleged offences happened at the family's home in July 2002 and on February 23 last year when the victims were aged 13 and 14.

police seek help

Police have appealed for information on a traffic accident in which a 29-year-old woman died after being hit by a car just after 6pm on October 16 while crossing the Tai Po-bound lane of Kam Tin Road, near Sheung Tsuen. Anyone with information should call 2677 6299 or 2455 4210.

Probe of kimchi imports

Food authorities are investigating the discovery of parasite larvae in South Korean kimchi imported from the mainland. The Korea Food and Drug Administration said at the weekend that nine out of 16 imported kimchi products contained the parasites.
