The busy overseas schedules of top Chinese leaders will put the country in the international spotlight for the rest of the year. State Councillor Tang Jiaxuan said President Hu Jintao would visit Britain, Germany and Spain next month. The European tour would follow a six-day trip to North Korea and Vietnam, scheduled to start on Friday. Mr Hu would then make a trip to South Korea and attend the annual Apec summit in Seoul shortly before a meeting with US President George W. Bush in Beijing. Premier Wen Jiabao is also expected to have a busy diplomatic schedule during the next few months. He planned to visit Germany and the Czech Republic and Slovakia next month, Mr Tang said. The premier was also tipped to go to Russia by the end of this year.
