It doesn't matter how you dissect today's Sha Tin card, it's hard not to reach the conclusion that it will prove a fat afternoon for the 'dream team' of trainer John Size and jockey Douglas Whyte. Size won the trainers' championship in each of his first three years in Hong Kong, an amazing winning sequence that had to bow to the might of the Tony Cruz juggernaut last season. Whyte has been unstoppable as the king of club jockeys, winning the last five premierships and knocking off all previous Hong Kong riding benchmarks, save Cruz's all-time record for the number of wins. So when Size and Whyte have combined, it's been predictably pretty to watch and 'dream' results have followed. This season, they've joined forces 37 times, of which they've won nine and been placed another six - a win strike rate of 24.3 per cent and a place strike rate of 40.5 per cent. The Durban Demon has also ridden 18 winners from his last 100 rides, so he's undoubtedly right at the peak of his form. On last night's 6pm tote call, the Size-Whyte (pictured) combination was responsible for early favourites Vitality Champ (race one, $24), Thistle King (race three, $27), Danacourt (race nine, $33) and Winning Bullet (race 10, $28). Whyte also has the mounts on two other early favourites, Capability (race two, $24) and Syllabus (race eight, $18).
