Stickers, SWEETS, chat lists and Chatterbox badges - everything was in place for the first English Speaking Day organised by Tsuen Wan Government Secondary School this year.
Everybody enjoyed the event. Everywhere you looked - from the lobby, to the covered playground, to the corridors - students were chatting in English.
Being a Chatterbox myself, I was surrounded by a crowd of junior form schoolmates showing great eagerness to express themselves in English.
Each of them would be awarded stickers and sweets according to their performance. The lollipops I was carrying were given out in no time.
In the inter-class Chatting Competition, the class that collected the most stickers would win fabulous prizes.
'How do you find our English Speaking Day?' 'Marvellous!' 'I love it so much!' 'I want it to be held every week' - these were some of our schoolmates' comments about the big day.
Not only was it full of fun, it also provided the students with a superb opportunity to practise their English skills.
