CUHK was established in 1963, with its Graduate School founded in 1966. It is a bilingual institution. By September this year, CUHK had more than 10,000 undergraduates and 9,000 full and part-time postgraduates. The Graduate School offers a wide range of research and taught postgraduate degrees up to doctoral level. Large programmes include its MBA and teacher-training, with taught master's in professional and less work-specific subjects. New programmes offered in 2006-07 are: Juris Doctor programme; MA in Chinese studies; MA in Japanese language and teaching; MA in curriculum development and teaching of liberal studies; master of laws in business and law in China; master of laws in common law; master of laws in international economic law; MSc in stroke and clinical neurosciences.
