Buying tailor-made clothes is easy in Hong Kong, but those essential fitting sessions can be a drag for your shopping companions. Enter Pursue, a new tailor shop in Central that makes the experience far more pleasurable for your buddies. The second-floor store has a bar in which customers and their friends can enjoy refreshments while waiting. Not that the concept is out of place, considering the shop is in the middle of Lan Kwai Fong. Prices for summer suits start at $1,500, with shirts at $300. Owner Joel Chan says many of his customers are converts from the ready-made - and much more pricy - racks of Giorgio Armani and Hugo Boss. Chan is just as happy creating elegant ball gowns and other special requests, and may even offer some style tips. And if you're not in the market for either a suit or a scotch, Pursue is also an art gallery, so you could buy one of the paintings on display.
Pursue is at 2/F, 13 Lan Kwai Fong, Central, tel: 2537 0993. Open Monday to Saturday, noon to 9pm.
